Featured Schleese Ambassador

Roberta Byng-Morris has dedicated her life to horses. Over the years Roberta has been coaching training techniques to many students with the classical system of dressage. Her students have obtained positions on Canadian National Teams. Roberta’s main philosophy is to educate her students to understand the body awareness in the rider and most importantly the horse.

“I have been riding in Schleese Saddles for over 15 years. I realized many years ago that saddle fitting and the right saddle for each horse is of upmost importance. Schleese Saddles also help the rider be comfortable in their stages of learning a deep connected seat with comfort. It allows your horse to use its body correctly and to develop through the classical dressage training system with ease. I have seen many horses with back issues be resolved from purchasing a Saddle Fit for Life Schleese Saddle. With regular fittings your horse gets to develop their muscles at their own rate without being uncomfortable. This, in turn, keeps your horse willing and trusting while in training. Happy horses have been my life’s commitment, and Schleese Saddles have allowed me to live my dream.” -Roberta Byng-Morris

Rider Testimonial:

“You have made my dreams come true. This is never something I could have done for my horses otherwise!”

Where is Jochen?

November was an amazingly busy month for Jochen and his team – starting with a very successful appearance at Equitana Melbourne where Jochen’s lectures were received to great acclaim but also the fact that Schleese won best overall small booth! Thanks to Odia for doing such a great job pulling it all together, and also to Murielle for travelling all the way from California to assist at the show and at the subsequent S4L and 3S training courses!
Jochen left OZ on Nov 23 to fly to Johannesburg, where he was a guest at the South African Dressage Forum (another successful appearance!) and participated in a panel of equine experts including renowned biomechanics expert Dr. Hilary Clayton, olympic dressage judge Stephen Clark, and Dr. John McVeigh from South Africa.
While in South Africa Jochen gave two one-day courses and worked with aspiring Saddle Ergonomists to certify them.
In December – continuing on with his round-the-world ticket – Jochen meets up with Sabine and Sonja at the Saddle Research Trust conference in the UK, where Schleese is a sponsor. It’s only a one day event (Dec 8) and exactly 30 days after leaving home he returns to Canada for a two-day respite before starting on a Florida sales trip, which takes him all the way to the company Christmas luncheon on the 21st of December. Then it’s time for a breather as we close for the holidays and the Schleeses get to spend some time with their kids relaxing.

Thanks for all your hard work. I rode Gia today and the saddle felt great! I am actually sitting in the middle. You guys were troopers. It was a long day in the famous sultry Georgia summer weather and you gave each and every horse and rider your full attention. Congrats.
