Suffering in Silence Wins a Winnie at the 2019 EQUUS Film Festival!
December 5-8, 2019 saw the EQUUS Film Festival host its inaugural appearance at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. This was the 7th annual event organized by its founder Lisa Diersen.
There were three days of author, artist and filmmaker panels featured along with the presentation of the various films and shorts up for awards. It was an interesting event that will certainly continue to evolve as the Horse Park is planned to become its permanent home.
Jochen Schleese’s best-selling book “Suffering in Silence: The Saddle Fit Link to Physical and Psychological Trauma in Horses” was awarded the 2019 Winnie for the best educational book – an immense honour, given the calibre of nominees and authors present at this festival of Equine Arts. The book is presently in its third printing by Trafalgar Square Books and is used as the reference manual for saddle fitters all across the globe. It is a prerequisite for any attendees of the Saddlefit 4 Life Equine Ergonomics course taught by Schleese on five continents! The book is also available at amazon.com in hardcover, paperback and e-book formats.
